LTS Builders

I have a question, for three month now I have been told our new home construction would be completed within the next 2-4 weeks. I visit the site every weekend and I have noticed that nothing has been done at my home for the last three week, which troubles me because I have been given a definite date for a final walk through and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. I am looking to talk with any other LTS Home Buyer that can shead some light by sharing their experiences with me. I see several other houses in my development going up and it's troublesome to see mine just sitting there. . I don't know if I should go over my project managers head and see what the problem is. I guess it's a good thing my son is not school age, because I really don't know what I would have done, Pitched a tent on my own property. It's just so painful.

with any construction, 1 week nothing and then bam loads, really up to the contractors and sub contractors showing up. When is the date of the final walk through? What has to be done still? Different people do different works. one clears the land, another foundation, another frames another roods, another electrician, another cabinets, another dry wall, another does painting another does trim, etc Remember probaly signed the contract about 6 - 9 months ago and there are different stages to it.

No harm in asking the project manager. Do you have a construction loan that has a number of payouts based on amounts of completion and inspection?

I usually ask for a performance clause in all major contracts, to prevent this from happening.... Jeff

Builders usually have clauses built in though because of sub availability and inspection timing.

I owned an LTS home. Overall, the quality was OK. Not great, but OK. I had 2 issues with them. Feel free to pm me.
