 Peanut butter?

Peanut butter? - Saturday, January 06, 2007 11:13 AM
Hi all, I have gained about 6 pounds this fall and am very unhappy.  The only thing I can think of that is different is that i added a tablespoon of peanut butter to my lunch 4 or 5 days a week.  Is that enough to make such a significant wieght fluctuation?  I am now looking into seeing a nutritionist or dietition--any recommendations would be great.

kjp, I'm sorry to tell you studies have found that peanut butter actually has been found to suppress hunger and having only one tablespoon doesn't make you gain 6 lbs.

I have seen this many times and it seemed to work for some.
 
There are other factors to consider though, reduction in activity is a big one.  Once we enter into the colder season, weight gain is inevitable.  What I do suggest is you keep a log and see what and how much you eat.  Also when you eat and what you are doing after.  You may be surprised that you are not burning off what you are consuming.
