Does any know if you can have pneumonia if what (sorry a bit gross here) you are coughing up is just whitish? I have been running a slight fever too.
May the best day of your past be the worst day of your future.

There are many types of pneumonia, it's not determined by the color of the phlegm you cough up. The only way that can be determined is by a chest x-ray. Although green and bloody phlegm is indicative of a lung infection or something worse, the color can be influenced by so much more-pollen (turns it yellow), smoking (brown), pollution(tan-brown), bronchitis. I had a pt who swore she was dying, she was a school dietician who was breathing in the kool-aid powder-coughing up red! Play it safe and go to your Physician and let him/her listen to your chest and determine if an x-ray is necessary. Fever indicates your body is fighting off an infection by raising its temperature to kill of the offending germs. Drink lots of fluid this thins out the mucus and makes it easier to cough up. Good luck-
